The letter of 1 Peter calls elect exiles to live in the hope brought by Jesus’ resurrection.
Whether in suffering or other challenges; among the church or non-believers, we are called to Living Hope -
to live out of our identity in Christ so that we might be hope for the world.
For our church we will apply the teaching of 1 Peter directly to living in this pandemic - both the call to have hope and to be hope. However, it will also be important to create space for lament (i.e. hopes unfulfilled/deferred),
especially as news around us is likely to get worse before it gets better.
Each week we will look at the following:
How we can EMBRACE Living Hope (personal, “spiritual”, etc.)
How we can EXTEND Living Hope (mission, neighbors, etc.)
